It is not about the object in the image. And it is not about the right composition. It is also not about the equipment used or the technical work applied to the image. It is about the feelings and emotions connected to those things that naturally landscape everyday life. Sky; water; trees; rocks. It is about connection.
Lance Drozda is a landscape photographer whose images are created as they are seen through the camera without being manipulated in the darkroom or on the computer. It is the beauty of nature that calls his attention and prompts him to try and convey the connection that is felt at a moment in time.
Through photography, Lance explores angles, space, reflections, and light from which the forms can be the most that they can be – whatever that is. He is often amazed at the shapes and forms that have appeared in his work. His intention is always to explore the emotion, not the object. And not to alter it.
Lance strives to make forms have sense visually and trusts that the feelings that inspired him to capture them inspire those who view them. |
