Auralee MacPherson is a Regina volunteer and patron of the arts. Although she originally studied as a nurse, her recent life has been devoted the family company, MacPherson Engineering, and to the Saskatchewan art and craft community. Auralee’s interest in craft has been inspired by extensive travelling aboard, where she became interested in the ways art and craft have become interwoven with various cultures, as well as the strong and supportive art and craft community at home. Auralee has generously given her time, serving as a board member for numerous arts and culture organizations, including two EXPO Organizing Committees, the Regina Plains Museum Board of Directors, and the Youth Ballet Board of Directors, as well as various provincial fundraising committees. She has been instrumental in having Saskatchewan craft recognized at events such as the 2010 Premier’s Dinner, by government officials and community members alike. Auralee MacPherson holds an Honourary Lifetime Membership to the Saskatchewan Craft Council. |
