Kaija Sanelma Harris grew up and was educated in Finland. She is a weaver of unrivaled skill and control who is known for the innovative structure of her work - the complex layering of warps and wefts.
Kaija came to Saskatchewan in 1971, and established through observation, innovation, imagination, inspiration, exploration and sheer tenacious hard work created a body of work that was won the prestigious Premier's Prize a record five times.
Kaija Sanelma Harris was awarded a Honorary Lifetime Membership in the SCC in 2007. |
