Raised in Saskatchewan, Doug, a retired Canadian Army Officer, has always been passionate about art, and watercolours in particular. Recently he has added digital art to his palette. His subjects include prairie landscapes, old buildings, vehicles and derelict industrial and agricultural machinery.
“I am fascinated by the rich colours and textures found in nature, particularly weathered wood and rusted, worn metal. I strive to improve my techniques while allowing my art to evolve. I have much to learn - enough to fill two lifetimes.”
Doug has received numerous awards for his art, including the 2005 Calgary Stampede Western Art Show Gallery Collectors Choice Award.
