Susan Remenda Penrose was born in Regina and spent her formative years there. She began to paint and draw at an early age and her love of art led her to Medicine Hat College where she earned a diploma in Visual Communications. Ceramics courses at the College and numerous pottery workshops decided Susan's path in the arts. She always felt a connection to the earth and the landscape and clay was the medium to express her love of nature. Much of her work shows the influence of the subtle beauty of the prairies and the rugged coulees of Medicine Hat. She uses many motifs from nature such as leaves, flowers and animals. Susan's work can be seen at several galleries and craft shows across western Canada. |
