DeLee Grant was born in Saskatchewan and raised on a farm near Regina.
Her lifelong passion for art has been primarily self-taught however she was
strongly influenced and encouraged by her mother and aunt who were also artists.
Although she has traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe and Central America her paintings and photographs strongly reflect her prairie roots. Her love for nature, animals and rural life is evident in her artwork. She also includes florals and landscapes in her subject matter. Her media of choice is acrylics. She feels the endless possibilities and versatility of this media enable her to explore various styles using multiple layers of color and texture to create desired effects. Her intention is to stir emotions, express her love for nature and share her passion with others through her artwork.
She has several published images and has won numerous awards and ribbons for both her paintings and photographs. Her art work can be found in both private and corporate collections locally and throughout Canada. She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts, Saskatchewan Craft Council, Art Gallery of Regina, Brushworks Art Guild and Eden Art Guild. |
