Juliane has always had a passion for art and an interest in science. She graduated from the University of Berlin with a degree in veterinary medicine. After immigrating to Canada she combined her background in science and her love for art by taking a position as a medical illustrator at the veterinary college in Saskatoon. Her illustration work asks for a lot of precision and detail, which is contrasted by more abstract and intuitive paintings created in her home studio. This work is influenced by a number of inspiring summer workshops with George Glenn in Prince Albert.
Recently she discovered Alexander Calder and his amazing mobiles. Juliane is fascinated by discovering a whole new dimension to art, the ability to add movement. She works with found objects, painted wood, wire and string to create her imaginative, crazy, funky and fun mobile art. |
