Born in Montreal, Quebec, Randall Clifford received his bachelor of science specializing in Geology from Concordia University in 1982. He was hired by a major computer company and transferred to Calgary which he now calls home. After ten years of "Corporate life" he was ready for a change. Really ready. He left his suit and tie behind and discovered a release for his creativity. Studio 55 was born. Pottery focused his scientific and geologic backgrounds with a love of form, design and beauty.
Being basically self taught, he began to draw from his experiences. He creates items which are not only pleasing to the eye but have a definite function and form. Working both in stoneware and RAKU, he started a line of environmentally friendly products, unique Zen-Western tableware and ceramic "art" pieces. His Enviro-Candles quickly became one of his most recognizable products due to their unique design and powerful colors. These candles integrate an attractive product with a strong environmental commitment. |
