For a watercolourist time changes how they perceive their surroundings. With experience and skill the artist no longer sees just a tree, a rock, a flower, an object, instead is treated to a joyous interplay of light and dark, tone and shade. Soon everything they see is translated into a thousand hues of a thousand colours with their artist's eye.
Born, raised and educated in Saskatoon, Samaya went on to become an emergency room nurse. In later years, she dedicated her energies to being a "mom to the max". With the growth and independence of her children she developed an interest in learning to paint.
Over time Samaya mastered even the most complex watercolor techniques and spent a number of years teaching others, while painting joyously in every spare moment she could find.
For Samaya, painting is not just a pastime, it is a passion that becomes more encompassing, more enthralling each passing day.
